READY TO GET STARTED?
Register with Tax & Bookkeeping
Here’s what you’ll need to complete your registration for DSA Tax & Bookkeeping.
Before applying, please ensure your business is formed, and you have received both your EIN and your state Articles of Incorporation. When submitting your application, attach your Closing Statement for the route purchase along with your corporation documents. If you still need to form your business, click Business Formation to use DSA’s quick and simple process. Whether you sign up through your bakery manufacturer for settlement deductions or pay directly by credit card, you’ll gain access to our Client Area once registered.
STAY COMPLIANT
IRS and State Tax Forms
Once you become a DSA Tax & Bookkeeping client, you’ll receive important forms like IRS Form 2553 and Form 2848 by mail or email. Form 2553 is used to elect S corporation status, which can offer significant tax savings, and Form 2848 authorizes DSA to communicate directly with the IRS on your behalf. Your accountant will walk you through these filings, help you understand your tax elections, and ensure that all necessary state registrations and annual reports are submitted to keep your business in good standing.

EASY ONLINE ACCESS
Completing Your Monthly Report
Each month, you’ll record your income (deposits) and expenses in easy-to-use categories tailored to the route distribution business. We don’t receive data from your bakery manufacturer, so it’s your responsibility to track your business finances, keep your bank statements and receipts secure, and complete your Monthly Report. Include your business formation fee in your first report — we’ll calculate amortization and loan interest expenses for you.
Your first Monthly Report is due within one month of closing on your business. Submitting online is easiest, and the system will help with the math.
Monthly reporting lets us monitor your business health and guide you on estimated income taxes and payroll obligations. The IRS requires you to pay yourself a reasonable salary, and payroll tax payments are mandatory. Quarterly estimates help reduce interest and avoid surprises at year-end.
MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME
Tax Return Preparation
Your personal accountant will provide monthly financials that track the health of your business and help determine any required quarterly tax payments. This proactive approach helps reduce your year-end tax burden.
DSA prepares both your business and personal tax returns each year — including all necessary federal and state schedules. We also take your personal tax credits, deductions, and other income into account to ensure you get the maximum benefit.
With strategies built specifically for distributors, we’ll make sure your income and expenses are tracked for the greatest possible savings. And if you have questions, your accountant is just a call or email away.

DEDICATED ACCOUNT EXPERTISE
Accounting Support
At DSA, every client is assigned a dedicated accountant who provides personalized, ongoing support. From the start, your accountant will review your business setup and ensure you’re comfortable with the recordkeeping tools we provide.
Each month, you’ll receive financial statements that show the health of your business and help determine quarterly tax liabilities. This proactive guidance can reduce your year-end tax burden and ensure you’re on track with payroll and estimated tax payments.
We handle both business and personal returns — federal and state — and factor in personal credits, deductions, and income to maximize your savings. Your accountant is always just a phone call or email away to answer any questions throughout the year.
